About Commercial Driver Training

Commercial Driver Training , Inc. is a vocational school founded in 1961 to offer courses in professional Tractor Trailer, Truck, and Bus Driving. Commercial Driver Training’s curricula was developed to fill the trucking industry’s need for well trained highly skilled drivers.  The trucking industry in the USA is vast and employs millions of people.  Although the industry is so vast it has few training programs of its own.  This brings the need of such schools as ours into focus.  The curriculum at Commercial Driver training provides the students with a broad base of knowledge through class sessions and practical experience to take their place in the necessary and rewarding field as a professional tractor trailer,  truck, or Bus Driver.

Facilities and Equipment

CDT’s facility is located at 600 Patton Avenue, West Babylon, NY.  Our location consist of approximately 2700 square feet of offices, lounges and classroom area.  The school utilizes a two acre training field for the student’s skill maneuvering and off road exercises.  The school also offers a wide variety of equipment to train on.  We have diesel tractors and transmissions that range from 6 to 10 speed, loaded and unloaded trailers, straight trucks and buses.  By using this variety of equipment, it better prepares an individual for a swift transition into the trucking industry.

Commercial Driver Training’s mission is to develop professional drivers to have a strong outlook on life, safety, protection of property, equipment and the environment through teamwork.  Reducing risk between student, instructor and onto the employers of student graduates.

Admission and Acceptance

Students are admitted, trained and referred for employment without regard to race, color, creed, sex, age or national origin, veteran status or any disability as provided in the American with Disabilities Act.  Prospective students must be able to meet the Department of Transportation’s Physical Requirements.
